Cairns Marble Australia mines, manufactures and retails a complete range of marble products from raw marble blocks through to unpolished and polished marble slabs, marble tiles, monumental and furniture products.

The company also sources granite slabs for the manufacture of stone furniture including kitchen benchtops, bars, bathroom vanities and monument items.

We source our raw marble materials from our own extensive leases in the Chillagoe district of Far North Queensland, Australia, and recently have expanded our operations to Western Australia deposits. Since 1989 a variety of marble has been mined from these leases with positive results of quality.

Abdeen Stone Group owns two factories (Abdeen Factory & EL Amal Factory) with a total area 12000 M² on Industrial Zone for marble & Granite ( Shak El Thoban), with a total production capacity about 800000 M² per year, including raw and polished slabs and ordered sizes with several finishing features using modern technological methods.

In order to maintain a competitive edge, we have invested heavily in new technology, machinery & human recourses. This has resulted in an increase in orders from The International Market.

Recently we celebrated our 11th anniversary since launching on the WWW in 1998, we survived the dot com boom intact and even the on-going recession of 2008-2009 has still seen us progress however for quite a while we had been contemplating how to, or even whether to, adopt a Web 2.0 strategy.

The natural stone trade, probably the entire world wide web, realistically does not need any more directories, most of which are either unusable or at best a useless listing of company after company. Therefore the simple question for us was which technology allowed us to feature a company's full press release, a web site review, a product launch, could easily integrate a site search, could have enough categories, would allow user interaction and still be expandable if required?
